During the visit we will discuss your animal’s health history, do a gait analysis and discuss the goals for the massage. Each area of your dog's body will be massaged using gentle manipulation of muscles, joints and skin.  After your pet’s body is relaxed and warmed up, joints - legs, shoulders, and hip joints – will be gently stretched to incorporate a passive movement of joints for a good, thorough stretch.  The massage will last approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your pet’s comfort level on that day.

If there are days when your pet is not in the mood for a massage, we will work on establishing trust with the pet and work with the guardians to teach them massage techniques that they can perform until the next Belly Rub session.

Belly Rub will gladly show the guardians how to massage their dog/cat between Belly Rub massage sessions.  Massage is a wonderful bonding experience and can help the guardian stay attuned to the changes in the pet’s physical well-being.

The guardian is welcome to observe the massage, but the session should be quiet and free from the distraction of other animals or commotion.
